First Day

First day of September,
We saw a few turning leaves,
rows of blackbirds on the power lines,
wood piles growing,
Winter already on our minds.

Snow is foreign sounding now
We have some vegetables growing
Frost might hit this month
We can use plastic above 20 ish Fahrenheit on tomatoes, peppers.

Still no visitors from Antarctica,
Or do they even register?
Had a wonderful day yesterday at a pig roast by the lake.

Today focused on the garden and yard.
I intend to continue the Monkton,Vermont Chronicles.
Trying to tidy up my page.
Want to spread word of our struggles far and world-wide.
Proposed pipeline blues,
taxation with frustrations,
Utilities in monopolies,
Fatigue from all the complexity.
